Obituary

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Sharon K. Sistrunk Carter, 70 of Seminary, who passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.

Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Carter was born on May 2, 1950 in Columbia, Mississippi to Bill and Dora Culp Sistrunk.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. Carter retired after numerous years of service as a bookkeeper for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3036 in Hattiesburg.  She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Dora Culp Sistrunk; and four brothers, Jessie Sistrunk, Tommy Sistrunk, Gerald Sistrunk, and Marty Sistrunk.

Survivors include her four children, Alisa Loper, and her husband, Richard of Seminary, Belinda Schwingle, and her husband, Peter of Seminary, John Carter, and his wife, Alison of Vancleave, and Aliceson Carter of Seminary; one brother, Howard Sistrunk of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Billy Loper (Miranda), Christian Carter, Ava Carter, Wyatt Hill, Riley Schwingle, Tony Schwingle (Casey), and Andee Schwingle; three great-grandchildren, Harley Schwingle, Jacob Schwingle, and Christopher Schwingle; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
