Sheila Stroud Bowman

(November 13, 1956 – August 12, 2025)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Sheila Stroud Bowman, 68 of Taylorsville, who passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Landmark of Collins.

Reverend Roy Dill will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mr. Danny Wade.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive guests from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.

Pallbearers will be Wade Byron Stroud, Malachi Jordan, James Jordan, Noah Salinas, Buster Carter, and Shane Carter.

Mrs. Bowman was born on November 13, 1956, in Collins, Mississippi to Buford and Alma Ruth Wade Stroud.  She was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and Jones County Junior College.  Mrs. Bowman retired after twenty-nine plus years of service at the Mississippi Development Authority in Jackson.  She was a member of the Westview Baptist Church in Jackson.  Mrs. Bowman was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She loved to spend time with family members and will be greatly missed by them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Alma Ruth Wade Stroud.

Survivors include her son, Andrew Bowman (Hilary) of Mendenhall, MS;  two brothers, Carroll Byron Stroud (Frances) of Elton, LA and Archie Darden Stroud (Anna) of Collins, MS; two granddaughters, Stella Ruth Anne Bowman and Emma Kate Bowman, both of Mendenhall, MS.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
