Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Lighthouse Church in Ellisville for Shelby Jean Atwood Mooney, 82 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Magnolia Gardens Nursing Home in Ellisville.

Brother Gary Roberts will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Lighthouse Church Cemetery in Ellisville.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Lighthouse Church in Ellisville.

Pallbearers will be Jim Atwood, Tim Atwood, David Atwood, Bobby Wayne Mooney, Billy Mack Mooney, and David McKee.

Mrs. Mooney was born on June 5, 1937 in Jones County, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Mrs. Mooney retired from United States Department of Agriculture after twenty-five years of service as an inspector.  She attended the Shiloh Baptist Church in Magee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hosey and Dovie Corley Atwood; and six brothers, Vardie Atwood, Clifton Atwood, Marvin Atwood, Melvin Atwood, A.J. Atwood, and Glenn Atwood.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Murray of Collins; two sons, Otho Anthony "Tony" Morris, and his wife, Peggy of Collins, and Jerry Alan Morris of Denham Springs, Louisiana; one granddaughter, Laci Edwards of Shreveport, Louisiana; one brother, James Atwood of Ellisville; one sister, Merle Roney of Ellisville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
