Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Shirley Dean Tatom Tannehill, 81 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Brookedale Memory Care in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The interment will follow at Speed Cemetery in Collins, Mississippi.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Highway 49, Collins, MS 39428, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. June 26, 2021.

Pallbearers will be John Thomas Tannehill III, Stephen Tannehill, Nicholas Tannehill, Dianne Jetton, Laural Tannehill, and Diana Newsome. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry McWilliams and Steve Newsome.

Mrs. Shirley was born on February 25, 1940, in Stamps, AR.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and friend.  She retired after thirty years in the Civil Service for the United States Air Force.  She enjoyed working in the outdoors and in her garden, painting, reading her Bible, and most of all spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tannehill, Jr.; father, Otra Tatom; mother, Mavis Wheelington; one brother, Jerrell Tatom; three brother-in-law's, Mike Aldridge, David Tannehill, and Billy Tannehill.

Survivors include two sons, John Thomas Tannehill, III and wife, Patricia Broom, of Sumrall, and Stephen Tannehill and wife, Jennifer, of Collins; six grandchildren, Keelie Hughes and husband Jeremy, Bayli Kowalski and husband, Brian, Laural Tannehill, Nicholas Tannehill, Edith Tannehill, and Stephen Tannehill, Jr.; one brother, Arvis Tatom and wife, Sylvia, of Searcy, AR; one sister, Sue Aldridge of Stamps, AR; three sister-in-law's, Pat Tatom of Ashdown, AR, Nora Tannehill of Oxford, MS, Linda Tannehill of Alabaster, AL; and a host of other family members and friends.
