Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery for Sterling Louis Sanford, 86 of Seminary, who passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care Center in Biloxi.
Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary with military rites at graveside. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Mr. Sanford was born on September 1, 1932 in Seminary, Mississippi. He retired after numerous years of service in Material Management. Mr. Sanford proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah N. Sanford; and his parents, Robert Willie Sanford and Ora Mae Ingram Sanford.
Survivors include his wife of fifteen years, Annie Mae Richardson Sanford of Smithville; one son, Sterling Dale Sanford, and his wife, Debbie of Seminary; four grandchildren, Robert Louis Sanford, Keva Joy Lee, Jason Dale Sanford, and Jesse Colton Smith; four great-grandchildren, Sara Sanford, Kelton Lee, Leslee Sanford, and McKenna Lee; two sisters, Vondell Sanford Guthrie of Seminary, and Teresa Sanford Tyson of Collins; three brothers, Curtis Sanford, Elton Sanford, and Harold Sanford, all of Seminary; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
