Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Taliaferro Richard Collins, 89 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at his residence in Collins, MS.
Brother Adam Parker will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Richard retired from the United States National Guard after thirty years of honorable service. He enjoyed flying airplanes with his brother in his younger years. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tell Collins and Annie McDonald Collins; one sister, Muriel Collins Stewart and one granddaughter, Blakely Coleman.
Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Elouise Sullivan Collins of Collins, MS; one son, Ricky Collins of Collins; two daughters, Pam Collins Mixon (Todd) of Sumrall and Kathy Collins of Hattiesburg, three brothers, James Ray Collins, Harlan Collins and Hascal Collins all of Collins; one grandson, Greg Engle of Sumrall; three granddaughters, Jill Mixon Bryars (Paul) of Fairhope, AL, Emily Collins of Memphis, TN and Katie Coleman of Austin, TX.
