Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Techa Lanett McGrew Shoemake, 48 of Seminary, who passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at her residence.
Reverend Chad Cummins, Reverend Larry McGrew, and Reverend Brian Dickens will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Babette Duty, and Mrs. Susan Deen. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Wone McGrew, Whey McGrew, Dakota McGrew, Corban McGrew, Brian Flowers, Jimmy Williams, Steve Duty, and Dicky Klug. Honorary pallbearers will be William Larry McGrew II, Mitchell McGrew, and Bradley McGrew.
Mrs. Shoemake was born on March 26, 1970 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a graduate of the Collins High School Class of 1988 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Shoemake was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and friend. She was employed by the Carver Middle School in Collins as a secretary. Mrs. Shoemake was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church in Collins, and also attended the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Lawrence "Butch" McGrew and Mary Lou Garner McGrew.
Survivors include her three sons, Peter Shoemake, Jotham Shoemake, and Andrew Shoemake, all of Seminary; one sister, Penny Kay McGrew of Collins; two brothers, William Larry McGrew, and his wife, Christal of Lacombe, Louisiana, and W. Lawrence McGrew of Trenton, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
