Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Teena Carol Speed Hegwood, 59 of Seminary, who passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Rocky Holston will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Speed Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Joey Wambold, Mitchell Cook, Hal Jenkins, Robert Hankins, Chris Hegwood, and Ritchie Hegwood.
Mrs. Hegwood was born on February 10, 1958 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a graduate of the Seminary High School Class of 1976 and later received an Associates of Arts degree in Nursing. Mrs. Hegwood has worked as a licensed practical nurse for the last fifteen years at numerous medical facilities in the area. She was a member of the Willow Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Kelton Speed.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Jim Hegwood of Seminary; one daughter, Hannah Reine Wambold and her husband, Joey of Hattiesburg; one son, Jacob Hegwood of Seminary; her mother, Betty Flynt Speed of Seminary; one sister, Angie Reynolds and her husband, Gaines of Seminary; one brother, Bryce Speed of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; one granddaughter, Hazel Day Wambold; and a host of other family members and friends.
