Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary for Thomas Jefferson Carter, 72 of Seminary, who passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024 at his residence in Seminary, MS.
Brother Shannon Breazeale will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on Smyrna Road in Seminary, MS.
Pallbearers will be Walter Schreiber, Eric Lott, Kevin McDonald, Brian Lucas, Christian Everett, and Shannon Breazeale.
Mr. Carter was born on October 16, 1951 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to T.J. and Marjorie McDonald Carter. He retired from the welding industry after fifty plus years of service. Mr. Carter was a member of the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, TJ and Marjorie McDonald Carter; and two sisters, Marjean Carter Thompson and Virginia Carter Herrin.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Terri Breazeale Carter of Seminary, MS; one son, Thomas "TJ" Carter of Seminary, MS; three daughters, Dana Breazeale Carter Schreiber (Walter) of Mount Olive, MS, Lisa Carter Lott (Eric) of Seminary, MS and Michelle Carter McDonald (Kevin) of Collins, MS; five sisters, Rita Carter Breazeale, Ann Carter Lowery, and Betty Carter Graves, all of Seminary, MS, Carolyn Carter Norris (Billy) and Theresa Carter Norris (Harold), both of Bassfield, MS; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
