Thomas Elton Shows
(October 16, 1925 – January 3, 2026)

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home in Collins for Thomas Elton Shows, 100 of Seminary, who passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Interment will be at Union Line Cemetery in Soso on Friday January 16, 2026.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home, 3202 US 49, Collins, MS.

Thomas was a retired Lt. Colonel who proudly and honorably served his country first in the United States Navy and then in the United States Air Force for a total of over 30 years and was a combat veteran of three wars.  Following his military service, he had a second career at the University of Southern Mississippi being promoted through various positions including:  Vending Manager, Postmaster, and Director of Telecommunications.  As a volunteer, he served as a board member of the Southwest Covington County Water Association for many years.  Thomas will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his spouse, Edna M. Valentine Shows of Seminary, MS; father, Tom R. Shows; mother, Laura Newell Shows; brothers, Roy M. Shows, Mack D.  Shows and Billy R. Shows; sisters, Mary Shows and Gladys Evans.

Survivors include his sons, Thomas E. Shows, II, Donald Shows (Trish), Micheal Shows of Waco, TX and James Shows (Chely) of Hattiesburg, MS;  daughter, Cynthia Shows;  sisters, Louella Watts, Paula Ervin, Ann Shows, Jane Shows;  grandchildren, Stacy Hodel, Thomas Shows, III, Melissa Chambers (Josh), Julie Miner (Hank), Sarah Shows, James T. Shows and William Shows;  great grandchildren, Sean Hodel and Henry Miner.
