Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Tommie Loyce Norris, 89 of Bassfield, who passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.
Brother Gary Bridges will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Norris Cemetery in Bassfield. Special music will be provided by Corrin Roberts. Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Trent Haden, Brandy Haden, Brian McRaney, Joey Runnels, Eulus Dyess, and Jimmy Daley.
Mrs. Norris was born on May 18, 1929 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Norris retired from Reliance Manufacturing, Inc. in Hattiesburg after twenty five years of service as a seamstress. She was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church in Sumrall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Eugene Dyess and Ethel Carolene Murry Dyess; her husband, W.T. Norris; two brothers, Kermit Dyess and Jonah Dyess; and eight sisters, Mryte Evans, Berdie Rae Evans, Ruby Nell Bryant, Hardy Ruth Saulters, Oneida Tabor, Willie Ossie Graves, Idell Haddox, and Eugenia Reynolds
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Crosby, and her husband, Chant of Sumrall; two sons, Thomas Michael Norris, and his wife, Mary of Bassfield, and William Donald Norris, and his wife, Pat of Sumrall; one brother, Hugh Dyess of Carson; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
