Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Sanford Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary, for Tonie Sue Rogers Prescott, 78, of Collins, who passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at her residence.
Elder Joe Lott, Elder Wayne Woolwine and Dr. Tim Hubbard will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Sanford Missionary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Byrd, Tommy Byrd, Greg McKinney, Brian Taormina, Steven Taormina, Stan Taormina, Timmy Loftin, and Randy Loftin. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Rogers, Brian Bagwell, Brad Tolar, and Tyler Dossett.
Tonie Sue was a member of Sanford Missionary Baptist Church and a former member of the Covington County Homemaker's Club. She will be remembered as a caring person who deeply loved her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Tonie Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Gale Albert Rogers in 2001, and by her late husband, Jerry Marshall Prescott in 2017; her parents, Tony Taormina and Hazel Ettar Taormina and brother, Ernie Taormina.
Survivors include her sons, William G. "Bill" Rogers, and his wife, Jerri , and Bruce A. Rogers, all of Collins; four grandchildren, Cole Rogers (Emily) of Collins, Heather Bagwell (Brian) of Hattiesburg, Natalie Tolar (Brad) of Hattiesburg, and Mary Kathryn Dossett (Tyler) of Seminary; four great- grandchildren; three siblings, Jim Taormina (Kay), Ann Parvin (Larry), and Marie McKinney (Charles), all of Seminary; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving step-children.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gideon's International or to the church or charity of your choice.
