Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Vance "Bud" Madden, 85 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his residence.

Reverend Wayne Woolwine and Reverend Jonathan Bryant will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mr. Jay Baggett and Mr. Curtis Phillips. Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Mason Stringer, Bob Dykes, Stevie Graves, Greg Mooney, Darrell Lightsey, and Darrell Craft.

Mr. Madden was born on December 8, 1932 in the Goodwill community of Oak Grove, Louisiana. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Madden retired after twenty-six years of service as a road supervisor for Covington County Beat One. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Collins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Althea Madison Madden; his first wife, Mary Jo Drennan Madden; three sisters, Eunice Madden Collins, Vivian Madden Petrie, and Patsy Madden McIntyre; and three brothers, Frank Madden, Percy Madden, and James Leonard Madden.

Survivors include his wife of ten years, Dorothy Dickerson Madden of Collins; one son, and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Tammy Baggett Madden of Collins; two step daughters, Paula Kitchens, and her husband, Howard, and Ellen Beth Bostic, and her husband, Tom, all of Soso; one step-son, Robert Johnston, and his wife, Marilyn of Soso; two granddaughters, Taylor Madden and Tatum Madden, both of Collins; twelve step grandchildren; eleven step great-grandchildren; one brother, R.B. Madden of Oak Grove, Louisiana; one sister, Bonnie Madden Guilrey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
