Vation Sims, Jr.

(December 5, 1944 – April 13, 2021)

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home in Collins for Vation Sims, Jr., 76 of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.

Bro. Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery. Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vation Sims, Sr. and Vertia Sims; two sisters, Geraldine Strother and Linda Sims; one brother, Jimmy Sims.

Survivors include his wife of fifty- one years, Paulette Sims of Seminary; two sons, Vation Sims III of Seminary, Paul Sims and wife, Jennifer Sims of Seminary; three sisters, Lena Greer of Mt. Olive, Julie Bennett of Oak Grove, and  Liddie Corban of Seminary; two brothers, George Sims of Ovett and Robbie Sims of Petal; and a host of other family members.
