Verna Holden Dusek

(February 8, 1937 – October 9, 2018)

Graveside services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Collins City Cemetery for Verna Holden Dusek, 81 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Magee General Hospital in Magee.

Reverend Glenn Shoemake officiated at the services with interment in the Collins City Cemetery.  Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were her friends.

Mrs. Dusek was born on February 8, 1937 in Mississippi.  She was a retired waitress for Speck's Restaurant in Collins.  Mrs. Dusek was a member of the Baptist faith..

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Flora Cooley Holden; her husband, Joseph "Duke" Dusek; a daughter, Linda; and one sister, Jean Talbert.

Survivors include one son, William Russell Whiteside, III, two daughters, Sheila Whiteside and Toni Leon; one brother, Andrew Holden; one sister, Zeil Furlone; four grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
