Virgil G Flynt

(June 5, 1934 – December 29, 2019)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Station Creek Baptist Church in Collins, for Virgil G Flynt, 85 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Joe Lott, Reverend Steve Ellis, and Reverend Clay Williamson will officiate at the services with interment to follow at Station Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Loftin, Randy Loftin, Layne Loftin, Jacob Lott, Mike Flynt and Frankie Flynt.

Mr. Flynt was born on June 5, 1934 in Covington County, Mississippi.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.  He served our country in the United States Army.  He was a member of Station Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Margie Flynt; one son, Roger C. Flynt; one grandson, Barry Flynt; one brother, Terrell Flynt; and two sisters, Evelyn Moss and Kay Taormina.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years Shirley Flynt of Collins; three sons, Philip Michael Flynt (Kathy) of Marrero, LA, Barry Stephen Flynt of Angola, LA, and David Franklin Flynt of Chatham, LA; four grandchildren, Kristy Rene Cheramie (Cory), Tommy Jo Flynt, Samantha Beckermeyer (Jessie), Amber Nicole Flynt; three great-grandchildren, Brady Jo Cheramie, Asher R Cheramie, and Preston Miller, and one brother Joe Flynt of Florida.
