Wayne Allen McDonald

(March 4, 1951 – January 10, 2023)

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Wayne Allen McDonald, 71 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at his residence.

Reverend West Gardner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McDonald Chapel Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Vicki Magee Mooney.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS. 39428.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ponder, Bobby Wayne Mooney, Don McDonald, Nathan Monk, Billy Shoemake, and Scott Drennan.  Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Mack Mooney, Mike McDonald, and the Norfolk Southern Railway employees.

Mr. McDonald was born on March 4, 1951, in Collins, Mississippi to John Allen McDonald and Evelyn Newell McDonald.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.  Mr. McDonald retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after forty-years of service as a bridge foreman.  He was a member of the McDonald Chapel Presbyterian Church in Collins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Allen McDonald and Evelyn Newell McDonald.

Survivors include one daughter, Christy McDonald Ponder of Collins; one son, Tim McDonald of Collins; one sister, Nancy McDonald Woods of Collins; six grandchildren, Tori McDonald Sanford (Cole), Heather McDonald, Nathan Monk, Blair McDonald, Billy Wayne Ponder, and Chloe Sullivan; two great-grandchildren, Lane Sanford and Creed Sanford; and a host of other family members and friends.
