Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Willene Byrd Sanford, 92 of Seminary, who passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Brother Brian Dickens will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 and from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Pallbearers will be Don Byrd, Tommy Byrd, Denny Bushman Jr, Frank Craft, Stacy Byrd, and Keith Drennan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Moss and Roy Phillips.
She enjoyed cooking and family get-togethers. Her favorite of all her jobs was being co-owner with her son Mick of Mick's Cafe in Sanford. It combined her love of cooking with her love of serving people, enjoying old friends and making new friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Sanford; one son, Mick Sanford; parents, Edmond Byrd and mother, Mavis Mooney Byrd; five brothers, John Everett Byrd, Grissett Byrd, Jessie Byrd, Martin Byrd and Palmer Byrd; and two sisters, Hazel Lee Byrd Craft and Iona Byrd Moss.
Survivors include her son, Steve Sanford (Patsy) of Seminary, MS; two daughters, Marsha Sanford Aultman (Ron) of Oak Grove and Belinda Hartfield (Mike) of Oak Grove; two sisters, Retha Mae Byrd Phillips of Moselle, Shirley Byrd Beasley of Seminary; three grandsons, Eric Sanford of Oak Grove, Mason Aultman of Oak Grove and Reed Sanford of Seminary; three granddaughters, Daphne Bourque (Ray) of Gulfport, Erica Sawyer (Justin) of Oak Grove and Keri Reagan (Aaron) of Seminary; and one great-granddaughter, Brieanna Bourque of Gulfport.
