William E. Beasley

(August 8, 1946 – March 18, 2022)

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Union North Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for William E. Beasley, 75 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Billy Purser and Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union North Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Beasley, Bruce Lancaster, Robert Shoemake, Glenn Madden, Robbie Beech, and Andy Pickering.

Mr. Beasley was born on August 8, 1946 in Seminary, Mississippi to Elwin and Lucille Norris Beasley.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.  Mr. Beasley retired as a plant superintendent for Georgia Pacific Plywood in Taylorsville after thirty-eight years of service.  He was a member of the Baptist faith and attended Union North Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Lucille Norris Beasley.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Barbara Sasser Beasley of Collins; two sons, Dr. Jason Beasley and Dr. Brian Beasley, and his wife, Carla, all of Collins; six grandchildren, Brian Kevin Beasley, II, Aidan Beasley, Reed Beasley, Ryland Beasley, Olivia Hitt, and Hasting Hitt; one sister, Peggy Beasley Shoemake, and her husband, Glenn of Collins; two brothers, Thomas Beasley and James Beasley, both of Seminary; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Union North Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 193 Pineview Road, Collins, MS. 39428 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
