William Alfred McKenzie, Jr.

(April 13, 1947 – November 21, 2019)

A Memorial Service will be held at Blakeney Creek Baptist Church in Collins, at 10:00 a.m. on November 30, 2019 for William Alfred McKenzie, Jr., 72 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Reese Douglas, Jr. will officiate the services.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. McKenzie was born on April 13, 1947 in Covington County.  He was the owner of McKenzie Auto Repair of Collins, MS.  He loved to listen to all types of bluegrass music.  Mr. & Mrs. McKenzie enjoyed traveling to Bluegrass Festivals, to the mountains, and out west.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lee McKenzie; his parents, William McKenzie, Sr. and Willie Mae McKenzie; and two sisters, Dianne McKenzie and Frances West.

Survivors include his two daughters, Carla Calhoun and her husband, Brian of Mt. Olive, MS and Rosemary Kitchens and her husband, Mike of Seminary, MS; one step-son J.R. Sellers of Collins, MS; one sister, Judy George and her husband, Tim of Pensacola, FL; four grandsons, Monroe Nowell, Micah Kitchens, Justin Kitchens, Nathaneil Sellers, and a host of nieces and nephews.
