Obituary

William "Bill" Schaub, of Hot Coffee, Mississippi passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Covington County Hospital.  He was born March 19, 1933 of the late William Henry Schaub and the late Damie Lou Schaub.  He was raised in Moss Point and graduated from Moss Point High School and Mississippi State University.  While at Mississippi State University he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.  Bill was of the Catholic faith.

Bill was an intelligent man whom God blessed with leadership abilities and a servant's heart.  Bill served as the Facility Manager at Sunbeam Corporation in both Mount Olive and Hattiesburg.  Later in life he was employed as a Concrete Technician for Wolverton Engineering in Collins.  Giving back to others was always a priority for Bill.  Over the span of several years Bill chose to give back through volunteering through the American Red Cross.  This volunteer work helped him minister to the needs of others in the aftermath of disasters.  He was able to touch people's lives all through the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico.

Bill had many passions in his life.  While his health allowed, Bill was an avid golfer.  As with any golfer, Bill was very proud of the fact he had shot several holes-in-one.  Later in life he loved to read and watch sports.  You could always hear him yelling loudly for his Bulldogs and for whatever team was playing Ole Miss.

Bill was very proud of his daughter and two sons, Sheryl Parish (James) of Madison; Stephen Schaub (Joy) of Magee; and David Schaub of Dallas, Texas.  Bill is survived by his wife of 18 years Rose Schaub and step-daughter Dawn Gentry, both of Hot Coffee; his sister-in-law Nancy Schaub of Madison; the mother of his children, Jackie Schaub of Magee; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  If you knew Bill you also know that he left behind his best friend, his dachshund, Buddy.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Schaub.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5 to 8 pm at Billy M King Colonial Chapel in Collins.  Services will be held Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 10 am in the chapel.  Interment will be at Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee.
