Willis B. "Billy" Todd. Jr.

(March 30, 1939 - February 12, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the First Baptist Church on Collins for Willis B. "Billy" Todd. Jr., 82 of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.

Dr. Joseph Bird will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Dianne Speed, Mrs. Janice Shanks, and Dr. Barry Morris.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Collins, 303 South 4th Street, Collins, Mississippi, 39428.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Eddie Gibson, Kenneth Stevens, Billy Dale Shoemake, David Shoemake, Greg Walker, Dr. Martin Harvey, Gordon Goss, and James Howard Kennedy.  Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the First Baptist Church of Collins, and the Board of Directors, and Staff of Covington County Bank in Collins.

Mr. Todd was born on March 30, 1939, in Jackson, Mississippi to Willis B. Todd Sr., and Maurine Duckworth Todd.  He was a graduate of the Collins High School Class of 1957 and earned his bachelor's degree in Business from Mississippi State University in 1961.  He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  Mr. Todd worked for State Bank and Trust in Collins for thirteen years before going to work for twenty-seven years at the Covington County Bank.  He retired from Covington County Bank as president in 2007 and remained on the Board of Directors for ten additional years.

Mr. Todd was very active in his community serving in numerous capacities with the Collins Rotary Club and Covington County Chamber of Commerce during his working career.  He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Collins.  Mr. Todd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all that knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis B. Todd Sr. and Maurine Duckworth Todd; and a grandson James Aaron Todd, II.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Jo Ann Mahaffey Todd of Collins; one son, James Willis "Jim" Todd of Collins; one daughter, Audra Ann Todd of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Corban Todd, and Kenner Todd; one sister, Ann Todd Minton of Madison; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
