Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Bullock Cemetery in Sanford for Zeda Matilda Mooney Miller, 94 of Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Azalea Gardens Nursing Home in Mobile.
Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be her family members and friends.
Mrs. Miller was born on January 23, 1923 in Seminary, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, Mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Miller retired from Brookley Air Force Field after numerous years of service as a payroll clerk. She was a member of the Sage Avenue Baptist Church in Mobile.
She was preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Floyd Mooney; her husband, James V. Miller; and one daughter, Gayle Miller Keup.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Perez Thornton of Mobile, Alabama, and Diane Miller Byrd of Williamston, North Carolina; two sons, Samuel A. Perez of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Harold Vincent Miller of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Travis L. Griffin, Sr. and his wife, Veronica, Brittany Byrd, Brandon Byrd, and Zachary Keup and his wife, Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Griffin Morrisroe and her husband, Jack, Travis L. Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Kate, and Miller Keup; and two great great-granddaughters, Evelyn Morrisroe and Francesca Morrisroe.
