Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Betty Carolyn Waters, 76 of Laurel and formerly of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Laurel.

Reverend Andre Thornton and reverend Rudolph Sims will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Ora Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Quick, Tim Wascomb, Milton Pegram, Ernie Knight, Jimmy Norris, and Jerry Brunbaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Dee Pegram, Forrest Kitchens, Richard May, and Jason Pates.

Mrs. Waters was born on September 12, 1939 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. She retired after fifteen plus years of service as a hair stylist. Mrs, Waters was a member of the Ora Baptist Church in Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherdan and Delia Roberts Myers, and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa F. Thornton and her husband, Alvin of Laurel; two sons, Randy Claude Warren and his wife, Pat and John T. Waters and his wife, Bethany, all of Collins; three sisters, Jean Stovall of Columbia, Kitty Leonard of Florida, and Sybil Harlow of Baytown, Texas; six grandchildren, Tamela Montgomery, Joseph Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Justin Taylor, Logan Waters, and Kalyn Waters; two great-grandchildren, Nic Warren, and Toree Montgomery; and a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
